Building Successful Ecosystems to Increase Investment Impact



Join us for a conversation with ecosystem-building experts on creating the necessary infrastructure - from community convening to digital network solutions - that cultivate local impact investing ecosystems and, subsequently, increases the number of local investments advancing impact in towns, cities, and regions across the world. 

Our panel will share their insights on the state of place-based investing, their experiences and learnings in cultivating local impact investing ecosystems, and critical assets that other ecosystems builders would need to do the same in their respective places. 


Panelists

Luni Libes is a 30+ year serial entrepreneur and investor, most recently: Africa Eats, a pan-African holding company focused on feeding Africa, which is a spin-off of Fledge, a global network of impact-oriented accelerators; Realize Impact, a public charity that makes it easy for anyone to make an impact investment; and The Angel Accelerator, teaching early-stage impact investing.

Luni is an Entrepreneur in Residence Emeritus at the University of Washington’s CoMotion, a Senior Advisor to The Impact Finance Center, the author of The Next Step series of guidebooks and podcasts on entrepreneurship, and with The Pinchot Impact Index, he solved the question on how to measure impact across a collection of companies.

Audrey Selian serves as Director of Artha Impact (Rianta Capital Zurich), a dedicated advisory to the Singh Family Trust and is co-founder of Artha Networks Inc. (ANI), a SaaS platform that has been licensed to various ecosystem-building organizations working to support investment discovery and collaboration across various sectors and geographies.  Audrey’s focus within the Artha portfolio has been on the deployment of private capital to high impact businesses serving the underserved in India.  Audrey has served as advisor to Halloran, is co-founder of ImpactforBreakfast.com, a network of over 3,100+ people across 30+ cities, and is also co-founder of Impact Hub Yerevan in Armenia, and of Baraka Impact (an emerging market focused health-focused investment platform).

 

Cory Donovan is the Executive Director of ImpactPHL, a non-profit organization that helps individuals and organizations align their financial assets with their values in order to create a more inclusive, sustainable, and resilient economy that works for all citizens of the Philadelphia region. In connecting investors with opportunities over the past 5 years at the helm of ImpactPHL, Cory has led meaningful impact awareness in the region and has collaborated with Halloran Philanthropies in building a digital platform to function as an index that brings many audiences together to pursue due diligence and the contacts needed to fund deals with the right values. Together they built a new platform for impact investing in the Philadelphia area: OptImpact.


Moderator

Michael Cosack has spent most of his professional career advising the trustees on the investment and fiduciary responsibilities regarding their institutional funds. As an entrepreneur, he has built several organizations, including one of the largest independent investment consulting firms in the Greater Philadelphia region, stewarding over $3.5 billion of combined assets. Michael is a Board Chair with ImpactPHL.
