This Chartered Financial Analyst Society of Philadelphia (CFAP) Event is Co-Hosted by ImpactPHL and Impact for Breakfast

It is said that the greatest environmental and social impact an investor can make is in a direct investment involving small to medium size businesses that are well managed and mission driven. In this actionable webinar, we will provide our audience practical guidance on how an ESG agenda can be accelerated and make a real impact through the investment of private equity place-based investments in Philadelphia.

In Philadelphia today there are ten investable impact investment funds that focus on everything from affordable housing, healthy food, recidivism, life sciences to minority owned businesses. Our speakers, Jackie Rantanen and John Moore, will discuss the due diligence necessary to select, implement and monitor place-based investments. We will also explore the spectrum of impact investing and why allocating dollars to private equity can be the most meaningful investment an investor can make.

Jackie Rantanen is a Managing Director and the Head of Product Solutions at Hamilton Lane, where she is responsible for aligning our specialized funds offerings to meet client objectives and needs. Jackie is also Co-Head of Hamilton Lane’s Impact Fund and serves as a member of the Investment and Responsible Investment Committees. Prior to joining Hamilton Lane in 1997, Jackie was a Corporate Finance Analyst for Comcast Corporation. Jackie received an M.B.A. from Villanova University and a B.S. from Drexel University.

John Moore is an angel investor with both Robin Hood Ventures and with Social Venture Circle Philadelphia. He is also the Executive Chair of ImpactPHL, an alliance to promote and grow the impact investing ecosystem in the greater Philadelphia region. He serves on the Board of Directors for Social Venture Circle, the world’s largest and most active impact investor angel group, Good Company Ventures, an accelerator for social impact companies, and several startup companies including Wash Cycle Laundry and Milkcrate.
