Hosted by ImpactPHL at Frankie's Summer Club

Learn how Scout will transform the former UArts building on South Broad Street

into a cultural and artistic hub

This June marks one year since the sudden news of the University of the Arts’ closure. Since then, Scout, a locally owned and woman-led business that owns and operates the BOK Building, has purchased the Hamilton and Furnace Hall buildings and will convert them into artist workshops and housing. This project will transform the 110,000 sq ft site into a mixed-use creative campus, including 45 affordable live/work units for artists, over 56,000 sq ft of creative commercial and maker space, community-oriented cultural venues, and ground-floor hospitality and retail. Scout is currently seeking private investment to complete the capital stack alongside historic tax credits, philanthropic support, bank debt, and public investment.

Join us on June 25th, 5-8 pm

Join us on June 25th at Frankie’s Social Club, the new pop-up bar in the yard of Furness Hall, behind Hamilton Hall. This happy hour welcomes the impact community - individual investors, family offices, foundations & endowments, financial professionals, social entrepreneurs, and others who want to align financial assets with values in order to build a more inclusive, sustainable, and resilient regional economy.

Scout

The urban design developer of the BOK Building was able to acquire impact investment toward purchase Hamilton Hall & Furness Hall at the University of the Arts on Broad Street. Scout stepped into the purchase after the bankruptcy of UArts. They have built an interesting plan for social & impact investment in the arts.

As a design organization, scout creates collaborative space that drives new solutions for community, place, and resources that preserve the past and re-envision the future.
