Total Impact Summit 2022: Investing For New Economies

  • Convene CityView 30 South 17th Street Philadelphia, PA, 19103 United States (map)

“Two board members attended with me and we all had an a-ha moment on the first day of the conference. We realized we had to use our endowment differently by coupling our grant-making with social impact investing. What a moment of revelation.”

- Vanessa Briggs, CEO of the Alliance for Health Equity

SUMMIT THEMES:

  • Climate & Health Innovations

The health of our planet and the people that inhabit it are inextricably linked. From extreme weather events and water access to equitable healthcare and life expectancy, the way capital is invested directly impacts our individual and collective well-being. Faced with urgent climate and health crises, hear from those leading new systems, investment practices, and solutions away from harm to the planet and communities - especially low-income communities, communities of color, and the LGBTQ community - and toward healthy, thriving, regenerative livelihoods.

  • Impact & Regenerative Investing

Every individual and institutional investor has a unique path for aligning assets to create positive impact outcomes, informed by everything from risk tolerance to return expectations, asset size to impact focus. Yet, investors face common, practical challenges and opportunities along the way - board buy-in, aligned advisory services, investable opportunities, impact management and measurement, and more. Connect with peers over the burning questions, learnings, tips, tools, and tricks for making impact and regenerative investments.

  • Investing in Place

U.S. neighborhoods, towns, cities, and regions are where impact and regenerative investing hits home. As local communities navigate COVID impacts, social and economic inequalities, education challenges, economic distress, and more, it’s clear that capital must move in new ways - and it’s already being modeled in places like New Orleans and Boise, Oakland, and Philadelphia. Hear from investors rooted in place, breaking down traditional silos, and investing to advance hometown social enterprises, funds, real estate initiatives, and more.

  • Investable Solutions Showcase

Successful impact and regenerative investments rely on the existence of solutions that have strong leaders and teams, center beneficiaries, measure impact, and effectively drive impact outcomes. Discover investable solutions across asset classes, stages, impact areas, sectors, and geographies. And further, how spectrums of integrated capital from catalytic grants to market-rate equity investments are coming together to capitalize these solutions in proven and new ways.

  • Racial & Economic Justice

Racial injustices and the wealth gap are among the most urgent economic issues of our generation, disproportionately impacting the lives and well-being of Black, brown, and indigenous communities in the United States. To achieve justice, leaders are advocating, shaping, and shifting paradigms of power, leadership structures, culture, and investment practices. Hear from those directly impacted by unjust practices and those creating solutions toward a more just, inclusive, and equitable future.

  • Reimagining New Economies

To achieve the futures we collectively want (and urgently need) for communities and the planet, we must reimagine new economic possibilities at local, national, and global levels. What’s on the horizon for global public markets to disinvest U.S. regions? Explore how leaders and practitioners are acting for economic change at the systems level, orienting around new goals and priorities, shifting systems and best practices, creating toolkits and frameworks, and modeling new pathways for capital to move toward positive solutions.
